HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING!!!

Well since my computer at home is having issues I wanted to go ahead and wish all of our FAMILY and FRIENDS a Safe & HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

This Thanksgiving Day, let's remember what we truly have to be thankful for. Let's take a good, hard look around us and realize that while we may not have everything we want, what we want is not always what we need.

With Love,

Angela & Kason Reno

Crime Scene

I'm still not really for sure how this happened...

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Shaun was in the back of the house and Kason was in the den playing with some matchbox cars...Everything seemed okay. Shaun called me to come into the den. He said what is in the floor??? Did he throw up??? So being the mommie I stick my finger in it to see what it was. It didn't smell good and whatever it was he had it all over the front of his pants. I told Shaun it smells like poop..but how did it get in the floor. So I pull up the back of Kason's shirt and sure enough that's what it was. Now how it got all in the floor is still a mystery to the both of us. Needless to say I took Kason's straight to the tub and Shaun cleaned up the remaining mess. My son has had some bad diapers in his 15 months of life but nothing ever like this.

Okay now to something not so GROSS...

Kason's 15 mth checkup was yesterday. He weighed 24 lbs 10 oz and is 32 inches tall. Ofcourse he is high on the growth chart and is bigger than most kids his age. Dr. Walley was happy with the way he looked and couldn't believe all the teeth he had. He had to get 2 regular shots and his last flu shot for the year. Ofcourse he screamed like a wild man but I know how bad it hurts. Its funny how fast those tears dry up when they get a sucker though. He only has to get one more shot (polio) at his 18 mth check and we are done until his 5 year check up. YEAH YEAH YEAH

We still HATE Elmo...

We put locks on some of the cabinets and he was mad because he couldn't get them opened.

I Miss My Little Boy!!!

Well Kason has been at his Dad's all weekend and because he has his 15 mth checkup today he stayed with his Dad a extra night so he could just meet me with him instead of having to go to daycare today...and let me say I REALLY miss my little boy and can't wait to see him.

Friday night since neither me or Shaun had kids this weekend we decided to do dinner and a movie. I have really been wanting to see FireProof since I saw the previews during the Summer and we just haven't had a chance to go. Alot of people I know have seen the movie and said it was great and showed the spiritual side of how a marriage should be. My sister saw it a couple of weekends ago and said that I might not be ready to see it yet. I must say she was right. I definitely think it is a great movie for "Struggling" or "Happy" marriages but not so much for someone who has just gone through a divorce within the last year.

The Story:
At work, inside burning buildings, Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. At home, in the cooling embers of his marriage, he lives by his own rules.
Growing up, Catherine Holt always dreamed of marrying a loving, brave firefighter...just like her daddy. Now, after seven years of marriage, Catherine wonders when she stopped being "good enough" for her husband.
Regular arguments over jobs, finances, housework, and outside interests have readied them both to move on to something with more sparks.
As the couple prepares to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day experiment: "The Love Dare." Wondering if it's even worth the effort, Caleb agrees-for his father's sake more than for his marriage. When Caleb discovers the book's daily challenges are tied into his parents' newfound faith, his already limited interest is further dampened.
While trying to stay true to his promise, Caleb becomes frustrated time and again. He finally asks his father, "How am I supposed to show love to somebody who constantly rejects me?"
When his father explains that this is the love Christ shows to us, Caleb makes a life-changing commitment to love God. And with God's help he begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife.
But is it too late to fireproof his marriage? His job is to rescue others. Now Caleb Holt is ready to face his toughest job ever...rescuing his wife's heart.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR PARTNER BEHIND!!!

I had purchased the book about a month or so ago and after seeing the movie Me and Shaun decided to do the book together even though we are not married but both of us have been previously divorced and we thought it would really be good for our relationship.

Okay enough about that....

Saturday I spent all day cleaning my house all the way down to the base boards. I was also able to finish up decorating for Christmas except for the outside and will finish that up on Friday. Shaun had to work on a side job first thing that morning so afterwards he came over and did a few things for me around my house that was much needed. Later that night we cooked on the grill and just hung out at the house.

Sunday we went to church for are 7th Series of "4 Better 4 Worse" titled "Every Womans Dream" He gave 5 Characteristics of a Godly Man out of Psalm 125 and Ephesians 5. Afterwards we went and had are normal Sunday lunch at his mom's house. We both fell asleep on his moms couch and then took Mackenzie to Walmart. Once we got back me and Mackenzie decorated their Christmas tree and watched TV will Shaun did things around his house. Later we went back to my house and hung out.

We have a busy week ahead of us...As I mentioned earlier Kason's has his 15mth checkup today which will involve a couple of shots and his last flu shot. Wednesday night we go to my MawMaws for decorating of her Christmas tree. This is something that we have been doing for years and all the Grandkids and now Great Grandkids participate. Thursday ofcourse is TURKEY DAY!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH and lets not forget about the IRON BOWL on Saturday. I'm sure I will have alot of pictures to post as the week goes by..ofcourse that is if I get my computer to work at home.

If I don't get to post anymore this week..I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Kason & Santa

I was really nervous this year about taking Kason to have his picture made with Santa because this is normally the age they start screaming when they see him...but lucky for me he wasn't. I was really happy how they turned out. When I look back on last years picture from when he was only 3 1/2 months I can't believe how much he has grown.

As Kason would say TADA!!!

We finally have the Christmas tree up....Normally I am completely decorated by now but I have been alittle behind schedule this year. Hopefully I will get everything done this weekend along with a "To Do List" that Shaun has made for us..and I thought I was OCD about things.

What A Weekend!!!

My weekend started pretty early because I only had to work 1/2 day building a playground...afterwards I did alittle shopping for Christmas then headed to the house until Kason woke up from his nap. That evening Shaun and Mikah came over and we cooked dinner and hung out at the house.

Kason helping the boy's setup the Wii

Saturday morning Kason let me sleep until 7:45am so that wasn't to bad after that we were up for the day. After his morning nap Me, Kason, Shaun and Mikah headed out on a hunt for a Christmas Tree. I went to put my tree up last Wednesday night and the top half lights didn't work..it is 6 years old so I did atleast get my money out of it. We went Wednesday night to Lowe's and purchased one but when we got it home and put it up some of the lights were not working on it. We tried everything to get it to work but in the box it went and back to Lowe's it had to go. So I decided I was going to look at some other places first before I made a decision. We ended up at Sam's and with a tree. I told Shaun Saturday if this tree doesn't work prepare for me to have a breakdown and cry. Thank the Lord no problems and once I get it decorated I will post pictures. Saturday evening after we dropped Kason off to Aunt Leslie and Mikah back to Shaun's house we headed to the Alabama / Mississippi State Game. I know everyone who is reading this knows that I'm a Auburn fan but when it comes to free tickets to a college football game I will cheer for anyone. I have never been to a Auburn game before but I must say there is nothing like Alabama Football. We were prepared for really cold weather but the seats where really good and were under the noise bleed section so we were out of the wind and we never really got that cold. Once we finally got back to Fultondale between sitting in traffic and a wreck we decided to make a pit stop by The Waffle House....YUMMIE!!!

Rainbow on the way to the game...BEAUTIFUL

Welcome to Alabama Football...

Sunday morning we went to church at GFB for Series #6 of "4 Better 4 Worse". This week it was titled "When The Flame Has Fizzled!" It was a great message and he had alot of really great points. Once section was What Do Husbands need from their wives?...Affirmation and Affection and What Do Wives need from their husbands?..Compliments and Covering. He compared the 2 sexes...The Woman as a Crock Pot (Slow) and The Man as a Microwave (Quick). Woman are emotional and Men are Visual. His final point was that No Man or Woman can satisfy you or your needs only God can and if he isn't in the center of your life and your marriage then you will never have a successful marriage. Afterwards we went to Shaun's mom for lunch and then headed back to my house. Me, Kason, Leslie and Madison had a Pottery Party at 4pm in Hueytown and then that night Me, Kason and Shaun stopped by Robert's house for his 30th Birthday party. For some reason Kason didn't have a good night last night he woke up about 9:30 and cried off and on till about 10:45 pm finally I put him in the bed with me and he went right to sleep finally about 12 am I put him back in his bed and I never heard anything else out of him. Maybe he just wanted to be next to his mommie.

Kason and Madison playing yesterday...

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!! No major plans for the week. I am having girls night tomorrow night at the Comedy Club for Tiffany's Birthday and Thursday we get to pick up our Santa pictures. Other than that who knows what we are going to do...hopefully trying to stay warm.
