Another Day Home with Kason

Well yesterday when I went to pick up Kason they said that he had just thrown up again so I was thinking oh great. Anyways we had to run to Walmart before we went home and he seemed like he was in a good mood but of course that all changed when I got home and went to put him in his high chair for dinner. Yep that's right he threw up all down the front of me and him. So I called the nurse again and she said there is nothing they will do because of his age it just has to "run its course" (I hate that line) She said to start over with just clear liquids and fruits. I was thinking oh great another night of no sleep and 6 changes of clothes. Luckily it wasn't a bad night he went right to sleep and slept till about 8:20 this morning. I decided to keep him out of daycare today so I could give him clear liquids and monitor his food intake so we wouldn't have anymore episode. I had some errands to run so we headed out this morning to Gardendale. I had to go ahead and get him measured for his Birthday JonJon and T-Shirt. I of course had Milo's for lunch and Kason had Apples/Pears with Pedialyte. Then it was off to Hobby Lobby for a quick look through. After that I decided to take him by my old work, MediSYS, because the girls haven't seen him in forever. They were all happy to see us and couldn't believe how big he has gotten. Then it was home for a nap, Thank God because I need one 2. Of course the rest of the evening he has been alittle ill. I told him to quit throwing those Reno fits because Lord knows he didn't get that from me. Not really for sure what is wrong but it finally became 8pm and I put him to bed. Now its just pretty much time to get stuff together for another day. I have come to the conclusion over the last couple of days that I'm really don't think I was meant to be a stay at home mom. I love Kason to death but WOW its a tough job.
Not really for sure what the weekend holds yet. Kason is spending the night with Aunt Leslie tomorrow night, so I get a free night. YEAH!!! YEAH!!! Hopefully if it doesn't rain Saturday we can get in some pool time and Sunday Kason has to go to his daddy's for the day so who knows what I will do. Me without Kason you never know what kind of trouble I might get into...Yea Right!!!!
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Kason's First Stomach Virus

Well you would never know by the videos below that Kason was up until 2 am Monday night / Tuesday morning with a stomach virus. It all started about 7:30 I was giving him a bath and I had laid him back to wash his hair and when I set him up he kind of choked and then threw up. I thought maybe I had just gotten water in his ear and it choked him because after that he played like nothing was wrong and as you can see by the video he climbed the stairs about 3 times. Well it was getting closer to his bed time and we were in the den playing and all of a sudden we had another episode but this time it was alot worse. So after I finally got him all cleaned up and the carpet all cleaned up it was time for him to go to bed. Well of course we had about 3 more episode in the bed and then we finally just started dry heaving. I think between the 2 of us we went through 6 outfits of clothes. Needless to say it was not a good night for us. Yesterday he seemed pretty okay. I tried not to give him anything heavy, mostly just clear liquids and some crackers. By the evening time he was acting pretty much back to normal so I decided to go to dinner at PF Chang's with a friend. When I got home mom said he was running alittle bit of a fever (100.1) but other than that he still seemed okay. So I was thinking finally I'm going to get some sleep. Well about 10 something he wakes up crying for no reason and this goes off and on till about 11. I finally gave him some Motrin and put some rub on his gums because hey when they can't talk to you, you must try everything and I knew I needed some sleep. After that he didn't wake up until I woke him up this morning. He was alittle on the ill side this morning but no fever so I sent him on to daycare. He was alittle unhappy when I dropped him off but hopefully he will have a good day.

Hope everyone is having a good week. HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!!

Climbing the Stairs - I don't know why he finds it so fun, it only seems like alot of work to me.

Here he is trying to climb underneath the table

This is what happens when you leave a 11mth old to entertain himself while you try and take a shower. He pulled all his clothes out of his tower and decided to use it as a hiding place.

Weekend Review

Wow we had a pretty busy weekend. Friday night me and Kason went to the mall to get him some new shoes for daycare because he starts his big boy class today and he really needed to be in shoes and they also told me he needed a nap mat because they think he is going to sleep on a mat instead of in a crib. I'm glad they get to handle that and not me. So I was lucky enough to find him a nap mat at the Disney store and it is the cutest thing. The mat part is mickey mouses body and the pillow part is his head. We also started looking at winter clothes because hey if you don't start shopping now all the cute stuff will be gone. After that I met my parents to drop him off so I could run by my house so when I got home I was expecting him to be in bed but nope I was wrong he was going through the house like a mad man. Hey that's what happens when you send your kids home with Nana and PaPaw. My mom said she would get up with Kason on Saturday morning if I wanted to sleep late so of course I didn't turn that offer down and it was nice being able to sleep until 10am.

This weekend was also the start of no more Bottle and Formula for Kason. This is all because he starts his new class today and they will be giving him whole milk and regular food so I figured its either now or 4 weeks from now when its his birthday. He does okay with the whole milk but I put it to him like this you either drink the milk or you don't get anything else. Of course I'm sure you are thinking I'm a mean mom but like the doctor said if he gets thirsty enough he will drink the milk. So I'm sticking to it.

Saturday was a day of Birthday parties for us. We made our first stop at my best friends house for Nathan's 2nd Birthday party. Some of you may not know but my friend April is alittle over the top with things and when its comes to birthday parties she really stresses out but I have to say she had ever right to this time. The theme for Nathan's party was water. She had purchased a water slide from Wal-mart, she had a slip n' slide and a baby pool for the smaller kids. Well as of Friday no water slide from Wal-mart in fact they lost the order on July 2nd and forgot or just decided not to call her. So after alot of stressing out she decided to rent a slide. Now this slide was alittle bigger than the original she had planned at 14 ft high and 30 ft long but she was determined to have a slide. Well everyone knows it rained Saturday so it wasn't looking like she was going to be able to use the $300 rental slide but finally after alot of thundering and lightening we were finally able to just play in the rain alittle bit. Of course the slide was alittle big for 2 years old and after Doug (Nathan's dad) hit his tail bone one good time it was kiddy pool for Nate after that. Oh well the older kids loved the slide and Madison had a blast. I didn't even try the slide with Kason I just put him in the kiddy pool but ofcourse my little guy found the mud holes alot more exciting then the kiddy pool. So I just decided to lose that battle and after playing in the mud I would just spray him down with a hose pipe. After I got Kason all cleaned up we went over to my friend Casie's parents house. She was home from GA and invited us over for her birthday cookout and plus she hasn't seen Kason since he was probably 4 weeks so she really wanted to see him. It was really great being able to spend some time with her. You would have thought Kason was part of the family because they just ate him up and of course he is like his daddy in meaning that he never meets a strange so he would just let anyone hold him. Finally we decided to head back to Hayden and make a stop by my Aunt Robin's house because my cousin Shelley was home from Auburn and they were having brownies and ice cream for my Uncle's birthday. After about a hour of that Kason let me know that he was tried and was ready for bed. Sunday was a day at church and we had a very uplifting service. Kason of course went to the nursery and they said he got alot upset when he saw another babies bottle. Oh well once again I'm sticking with it. After that we went to lunch with April and Anthony for a little mexican then home to take a nap. Finally that evening I got to have some Angela time and went to eat with a friend and then to game night at Robert's house. Finally at 9:00 pm they decided to play poker and I decided just to socialize because I'm not so good at poker. Needless to say it was about 11pm when I got home and I'm alittle tired today because I didn't sleep very well. Sometimes I just wish my brain had a on/off switch it would make things alot easier for me but here I am another week at work. Like I said Kason started his Toddler 3 class today he looked like such a big boy this morning with his new shoes on. It was kind of sad when I dropped him off this morning because it made me realize that my little boy is growing up. I can't wait to hear how his first day went at daycare with no bottle, no morning nap and trying to sleep on a nap mat. I might be in for a great surprise this evening.

Well enough writing for now....Below are pictures from the birthday party, weekend and his outfit for his first day in big boy class.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Happy Birthday Nathan

YEAH ITS FRIDAY!!!!

Thank the Lord its Friday!!!! The rest of the week has actually been pretty smooth at work. No major issues just trying to get some work done but I can't seem to stay focused. Not really for sure what the weekend holds for the 2 of us. Of course with the 2 of us you never know what can happen. I'm just hoping he sleeps alittle later in the morning so I can catch up on some sleep...but that probably want happen.

Okay you know how I'm always saying Kason is into everything well here he is trying to climb into the TV stand...If I could have figured out a way to put him in it I would have but he was alittle to big. Also one day I caught him hanging from the TV stand trying to climb it. All I could see was ER visit. Also the other pictures of him under the chair are because he decides to do things the hard way. Instead of crawling around the chair to get what he wants he thinks he can just slide right under them...but of course when he figures out his way wasn't really a good way he would get mad and start crying. Finally I just started leaving him underneath so he would have to figure out on his own how to get out. The rest are just more beach pictures.

Is It Friday Yet????

Well everyone knows when you miss a week of work due to vacation when you return you never no what you are going to get. Well I returned to work on Monday with 122 emails to sort through and then to make things even better my computer was down until after 2pm on Tuesday so I didn't get alot done yesterday either. On a fun note I finally got to experience Dreamland BBQ last night I know you are probably thinking who in Alabama hasn't eaten at Dreamland well now I can say I have. As far as Kason he has started drinking whole milk now and really seems to like it. I'm hoping soon we will be done with both formula and his bottle.

Hopefully the rest of the week will go smoothly at work, with no major problems. Not really for sure what the weekend holds yet other than my best friends little boy's Birthday party and my cousin Shelley is coming home from Auburn this weekend...so we finally get to see the engagement ring and I'm sure hear about all her wedding plans.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Love you all!!!

Videos from the Beach Trip

Peek A Boo

I wanted to see what would happen if we put him under water.

This is what happens when I let my child stay up after 8 PM

11 months TODAY

I can't believe in a month we will be celebrating Kason's 1st Birthday. Time has really flown by and I can't believe how much he has grown. Ofcourse most of you know Im OCD about things so I pretty much already have his birthday planned just waiting till its alittle closer to finish with all of the plans. My life has really changed over the last 11 months because of this wonderful little boy and I'm so excited to see what plans God has for me and Kason.

This is the theme for his party

More Beach Pictures

Its moments like this that I realize how lucky I am to have such a wonderful son and a loving and caring family. My family will never realize how much they truly mean to me and I will never be able to repay my parents for the love they have shown me and Kason over the last 7 months. I am truly blessed by God to have such a wonderful family.

Home Sweet Home...I Guess

Well even though I'm glad we had a safe trip home I really wish we were still at the beach. Well like my niece said all week we had a AWESOME time. Going to the beach is definitely different when you have a baby with you. Its not all about laying out like it has been in the past. A normal day for me at the beach is staying out in the sun all day without getting to much sand on me...not so much the case this year. I would lay out and Kason would climb on me from head to toe. We both had sand all over us and in places I didn't even know you could get sand....but if him climbing all over me was the worst I had to deal with then I was happy. Another thing that alittle different from my last trip which was just in June was I didn't get hit on by one guy...I guess something about a 10mth old screaming mama all the time must not attract to many guys my age. Oh well I'm a package deal you don't get me without Kason. We actually all thought it was pretty funny. He really did well at the beach..he wasn't really for sure about the sand on his feet but didn't mind it in his mouth. A couple of times when the water was nice we would just sit along the beach and let the water run up on us...he seemed to really enjoy it. He would go in at lunch time and take a 4 hour nap because he was so tried from all the fun in the sun. Let me just say not only will Monday be reality for me but for Kason also because he will no longer get 10 am chocolate chip cookie breaks and bed time is back to 8 pm. We took the kids Tuesday and Friday night to the little amusement park across the street. Kason was only able to ride the train but loved watching all the lights on the other rides. Afterwards we would go to our normal place for a ice cream break which was something else Kason found yummy. We had alot of really good food and tried alot of the newer places at Pier Park to eat.

New Things about Kason:
He took a few steps by himself this week and has also learned how to say Hi by put his hand up. He loves to patty cake but hasn't learned how to roll it up yet...but he has the clapping and the throw it in the pan part just right. He really loves to throw his hands from side to side when you ask him to dance for you. Also I don't know if its just a boy thing or my child but my lord he is into everything and he is a nosey little boy.

It was a great joy being about to spend the week with Kason and not have to send him to daycare. I'm really glad I was able to be with Kason for his first of many beach trips.

Over the next couple of days I will post pictures and videos from the trip. Hope you guys enjoy!

Hi from Panama City Beach!!!

Does a 5 year old really know what awesome means...Im sure she heard it on high school musical. Anyways so far Kason has done really well at the beach. At first he wasn't for sure about the sand on his feet and he thinks the sand is a food so is always trying to eat it. Ofcourse there is not much the boy hasn't had to eat this week. We have learn that Kason could be the new Mikey!!! Mikey will eat anything. Anyways justed wanted to post some of my favorite pictures so far so y'all could see what a great time we are having and plus my battery is going dead so I don't have alot of time to type. Hope you enjoy the pictures and maybe I can post again soon. Hope everyone is having a great week.!!!

TGIF

All I can say is TGIF. Wow has it been a busy week at work. I have been trying to get all my work done before vacation plus the work of another girl since she is on vacation not to mention we have auditors coming on Monday so I have had to get files ready for them. I will be so ready for 4:30 to get here. I did manage to get away on Wednesday night for some dinner with a friend at Twenty Six. It was a new place for me to eat but it was really good. I just love trying new places. Yesterday I got my hair cut and colored...Im back to being a brown/red head. Ofcourse after a week at the beach Im sure it will lighten alot. I also signed a contract on my house yesterday ofcourse the people have to sell there house first but aleast its something. Please pray that I get rid of it soon so I can move on with that chapter of my life. After that it was my weekly visit to Walmart for some last minute items for our trip then home to play with Kason. Well tomorrow is the day we leave for our family vacation to Panama City Beach, FL and I can't wait. Most people know that I'm a beach person and it is my favorite place to go but this year will be alittle different because I have a extra package going with me. Last year I carried him in my belly to the beach this year I will be carrying him in my arms. I sure hope he doesn't take after his father and not like the beach. I guess he will just have to learn because this will be the first of his many trip to Panama City Beach. I have not really been in the mood to pack because I didn't know where to begin with Kason and when I asked my mom what should I take she said everything....so to me that means everything but the kitchen sink. I did manage to get alot of stuff packed last night but I still have alot to get together not to mention I still have to pack myself which is a task in itself because I always carry way to many clothes. My dad said last night you don't need all those clothes Angela we are only staying for a week. I told him you never know about me, we may just decide to stay. Wouldn't that be nice???? Living on the beach. My brother in law is carrying his laptop with him so hopefully I can get a wireless hook up somewhere and update you guys during our trip. If not I will have tons of pictures to share when we return. Tonight will probably just be spent trying to get everything together. Im sure I will be up for awhile.

Also below you will see a video of Kason walking with his push toy I have been trying to get him to do this forever and I guess he finally decided it was time. He also stood up by himself yesterday without the help of furniture or anything else. I was shocked!!! I know it want be long until those little legs are moving and I want be able to keep up with him.

We hope everyone has a safe and great weekend and week. Like I said hopefully I can keep you updated during the vacation if not I will post pictures when we return. Please pray that we have a safe trip!!!

Love you all!!!

Bye Bye and Kason's Way Of Dancing

I know everyone probably thinks I video my child way to much but I just love to do it. Anyways, Nana has taught Kason how to dance...she will say Kason dance for Nana and he will throw his arms from side to side. I just think it is to cute. Even though my marriage didn't work out so well one thing I can say is me and Dennis did make a beautiful baby together. Like she says in Hope Floats "I got the best part out of you"

Morning Time!!!!

Nothing is sweeter then waking Kason up in the mornings ofcourse that is if he is not already awake. I love to watch the process as he decides he is finally going to get up. He normally stretches for awhile then will lay back down, then stretch again. There is always eye rubbing and normally he will sit and suck his thumb for a bit. I love to see his little sleepy head smile in the mornings. Hopefully I can get better video for you next time...but all the ones I have done are to long to download.

The Fern and the Bamboo

I read this on someone's blog and thought it was truly amazing....

The Fern and the Bamboo

One day I decided to quit.
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality.
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I asked. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me.
"Look around", He said.
"Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds,
I took very good care of them.
I gave them light. I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo."

"In the second year
The Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo".

"In the third year,
There was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.

In the fourth year,
Again, there was still nothing
from the bamboo seed.
Yet I would not quit."

"Then in the fifth year, he continued
A tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern it was seemingly
Small and insignificant."

"But just 6 months later the bamboo
rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots.
Those roots made it strong and
gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations
A challenge it could not handle."

Then He said to me.
"Did you know, my child,
that all this time you have been struggling,
you have actually been growing roots?
I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you.
Don't compare yourself to others."

He continued,
"The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern,
yet, they both make the forest beautiful.
Your time will come," God said.
"You will rise high!"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?"
He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned.

"Yes." He said,
"Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

~ ~ ~
Never regret a day in your life.
Good days give you Happiness.
Bad days give you Experiences.
Both are essential to life.

Keep going, DON'T QUIT!

GOD is too wise to be mistaken.
And too good to be unkind...
So when you don't understand..
When you don't see HIS plan...
When you can't trace HIS hand...

Weekend Review

Well as you can see by the pictures we had a wonderful 4th of July. Saturday was spent mostly just trying to regroup from the day before. Kason was alittle on the ill side Saturday I couldn't really find anything wrong with him maybe he just wanted the extra attention. He took almost a 4 hour nap Saturday which is something he really needed. We mostly just stayed around the house and played. Sunday was spent at church, Kason had to go spend the day with his Dad so a group of us all went for lunch at Lisa's kitchen, not really my favorite place, but I enjoy the adult conversation these days so I compromised. After running a few errans and quick drop by my house in Morris, I went back to my house in Hayden and took a nap, which was fab. My mom had to take my dad to the ER Sunday afternoon because he has been having really bad headaches, stomach issues and chest pain. Of course when they got to the ER he was running a fever but the doctor said his heart looked fine. They ran some blood work and his white count was alittle up. The doctor said it is either something viral or he also said he could have been bitten my a tick since he had been clearing some brush. So they sent him home with different types of antibiotics and hopefully that will get him better. I told him he just didn't want to work this week since we leave for the beach on Saturday. In the meantime Anthony and April called and invited me over for dinner since our previous plans had to be cancel due to no babysitter. Once Kason's dad dropped him off we went home and I had to get us ready for another day.

We hope everyone has a great week...I'm counting down the days till vacation. I can't wait to see how Kason does on his first of many Panama City Beach trips.

Kason & the Duck

I just love Kason's face as he tries to squeeze the duck.

Also below are just some pictures from the weekend.

4th of July

Well we had our Annual Family 4th of July celebration at The England Country Club and we had a blast. We normally just barbecue alot of different meat but this year we added a Shrimp Boil to the menu....which thanks to Steven turned out well. The 4th is a all day celebration for us that normally involves eating all day long, playing in the pool then going to Mountain Woods Lake for a little fireworks show. It is a tradition to make homemade ice cream and this year we added a little birthday cake for my cousins little girls 10th birthday. Happy Birthday Mikaela. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Also yesterday Kason decided he would start standing by himself...I guess this means it want be long until he is walking...LORD HELP US ALL. It must be a boy thing because he is into everything and there is never a moment of rest for me. He has also gotten really good at waving BYE BYE and he will even say it every once in awhile.

Happy Birthday America

Most people in the United States celebrate the 4th of July with barbecues, picnics and family gatherings, but do you know exactly why the holiday is so important to our country? Imagine how you would feel if someone older than you (maybe an older sister or brother) kept telling you what to do all of the time and kept taking more and more of your allowance. That is how the colonists felt in the years leading up to 1776. Great Britain kept trying to make the colonists follow more rules and pay higher taxes. People started getting mad and began making plans to be able to make their own rules. They no longer wanted Great Britain to be able to tell them what to do, so they decided to tell Great Britain that they were becoming an independent country. (To be independent means to take care of yourself, making your own rules and providing for your own needs.)

The Congress met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and they appointed a committee to write a formal document that would tell Great Britain that the Americans had decided to govern themselves. The committee asked Thomas Jefferson to write a draft of the document, so he worked for days, in absolute secret, until he had written a document that he thought said everything important that the committee had discussed. On June 28, 1776, the committee met to read Jefferson's "fair" copy. They revised the document and declared their independence on July 2, 1776. They officially adopted it on July 4, 1776. That is why we call it "Independence Day."

The Declaration of Independence is more than just a piece of paper. It is a symbol of our country's independence and commitment to certain ideas.

Also I wanted to share something that someone wrote that really meant alot to me and the rest of my family. My cousins grandfather "GrandPaw England" (who has already gone to be with the Lord) wrote hundreds and hundreds of pages in a journal for more than 25 years after he retired. Here is something he wrote on one 4th of July Morning. I really think it gives us all alittle something to think about:

This is an excerpt from one of his Journals dated July 4th 2000 and July 4th 2006

Good Morning Mr. 4th of July. You are our Independence Day. Some 224 years ago today we become a Nation, "The United States of America". We are thankful, Dear Father that you have blessed us along the way. I myself "Claud D. England" have had almost 77 years of this 224 years. This is almost 1..3 of the time our nation has been born. My question today is, "How have I, as a member of this Great Nation, made it a better place to live. Will my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren- stand tall and say, Claud D. England left an example of a good citizen".

I've been thinking about My freedom of speech? Is it truth the words I speak? Do I check my tongue before I utter words about my neighbor? Is my heavenly Father pleased with my words coming from my lips?

My Grandson "Brandon England" do I thank him enough for the job he is doing in the Army. Can I imagine the tough times our armed forces are having in Iraq.

My prayer is that the World's Nations would turn to God and live a life that would measure up to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Good law abiding people make a good nation. Our job in this good old USA is to make good, fair, and honest laws that can be respected and stand for what is right.

We hope everyone has a Safe and Happy 4th of July, Love you all Angela & Kason
