Happy New Years!!!!

As I look back on the year for me and Kason I must say WOW how things have change and at this point in my life I can say there are alot of things I have to just laugh about.

I never thought this time last year that my family would be soon torn apart by the works of the devil but that's what happens when you loose faith and don't trust in God and as the song says by Casting Crowns, its a slow fade.

I must say it has been a year of ups and downs for me but through it all I think I am in the process of becoming a better person. There are alot of things I have to still let go of but I know that is a process that just takes time.

Dennis, I really hope that you are truly happy with the decision you made. For your sake I hope you don't have to look back and think that you might have made the wrong decision. Like I have heard you say many of times... "Only God knows what happened".

I can't thank my parents enough for being there for us both during this very hard year. Their lives too changed very much when me and Kason moved back in but not once did they make us feel unwanted. I can't thank God enough for giving me a great set of Godly, Faith Believing, Stand on the word praying parents.

To my sister and Amy for letting me cry on their shoulder and being there for me through prayer or just a encouraging word. I must say my whole family and all of my friends have really helpd me through a process that in the beginning I didn't know how to handle.

Most of all I wish Kason knew how much he has been a huge joy in my life over this year and that every moment I spend with him is such a delight even when I feel like I am going to pull my hair out at times. It's moments like this
when he give you that really big smile or does his crazy little laugh..that I realize he is the main reason I live my life everyday and that he really was my saving grace.

Last but not least...God. I know without him this process would have been alot worse. There were alot of times I wondered WHY but I know by faith that God has a great plan for me and Kason and I just have to keep my faith in him. I know there have been times I probably have not made the right decision or maybe said the right things but that is why we die daily and I know that his forgiveness is waiting on me if I ask.

And Shaun thanks for just being you and for being apart of this crazy year with me. ;)

I have met alot of new people through this crazy journey in 2008 but they have help me along the way in many ways and have helped make me the person I am today.

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years!!!!

With Lots of Love,
Angela & Kason

Christmas + 70 degrees = Only in Alabama

Well its been a crazy last couple of days...Christmas Eve was spent at my grandmothers and we had a great time with the family. Kason ofcourse wanted to open up everyone elses gifts instead of his on. Kason had started getting alittle sick on Tuesday night with a runny nose, cough and low grade fever...needless to say Tuesday and Wednesday night were sleepless nights but we made it. Christmas morning Kason woke up to a room full of toys from Santa. His favorite things are the Firetruck Cozy Coupe and the Basketball goal. Nana and PaPaw also came by to see what Kason had received from Santa. Later that morning Shaun's kids came over and hung out with there Dad and we did their Christmas. Afterwards me and Kason headed to my grandmothers for Christmas lunch and then once Kason went to his Dad's around 3pm I went to the Dooley Family Christmas. Today was spent in the bed for me because I wanted to catch up on some much needed sleep. I did decide to finally get up and go get a few Christmas items that were on sale for next year. For dinner we cooked on the grill for the kids and then Kason finally got home so Shaun's parents came over to give him his presents from them. Ofcourse as soon as he walks in the door he goes straight to the Firetruck. Its so funny because he only knows reverse and he sometimes doesn't want to use the door he tries it the Dukes of Hazard way.

I hope everyone received everything they wanted for Christmas and had a great time with family and friends.... Hopefully within the next couple of days I will be able to share more pictures from over the holiday week.

2nd Day of Winter and Its Pretty Cold

What a fun weekend....but what about how cold it was this morning. How do we go from 70 to 17 degrees....Alabama weather.

The weekend started pretty early on Friday because we had our department luncheon at Debbie's house then we were off the rest of the day.

That evening we all went to The Stell's for vegetable soup and rock band. I think we played rock band for 3 hours straight. For the most part Shaun was the drummer, Josh was the singer and everyone tried the hand at the guitar.

Saturday morning was Bake Day for me and all the girls in my family. We had a great day together and the pictures say it all....

Saturday night me and Shaun went to the 8 o'clock show of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We had 14th row floor seats and words can not even describe how awesome the show was. I would recommend everyone to aleast go see it once. It was a 3 hour show that sold over 17,800 tickets between the 2 shows. Its is definitely something I will never forget...

Sunday ofcourse was church then we went to Shaun's grandmother's for Cassidy's Birthday lunch and then decided to fight the Christmas crowd at Walmart. Afterwards we headed home and waited for Kason to come home. Later that evening Mackenzie and Mackayla (Shaun's twin daughters) came over and put their gingerbread house together.

This morning I took Kason to his Aunt Leslie because he is going to spend the day and night with her and Maddie and then it is off to the Mcwane Center tomorrow. She brought him by this morning so I could show everyone at work what an adorable little boy I have. As of 3 pm today I am off work until Monday, December 29th. Hallelujah!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Happy Friday!!!

Moments Like This Is One Of The Many Reason I Love Being A Mommie!!!

Kason all ready for his Christmas Party today...

I hope everyone has had a great week. If it has been anything likes ours it has been busy. Like I mentioned on Monday Kason has to go to his Dad's this weekend... :(
Me and Shaun are going to the Stell's tonight along with other friends for dinner and alittle Rock Band. Tomorrow is the girls Bake Day and it's at my mom's this year because my aunt redid her kitchen and it's not completed yet. Later that night Me and Shaun are going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the BJCC. I have always wanted to go and I am so excited about it. Sunday will be church and then I get Kason back for awhile then he is spending the night with my sister to spend the day with her and Madison on Monday. We have dinner at Firebirds with Alabama Power Monday night and then I'm off the rest of the week...YEAH!!! Me and Leslie are hoping to take the kids to the McWane Science Center to see the Magic of Model Trains exhibit on Tuesday then its Christmas Eve at my MawMaws and then Santa will come and visit Kason on Christmas morning. I'm so excited about seeing how Kason's acts this year..even though I'm sure the boxes and paper will be his main entertainment.

I hope everyone has a great weekend of family and friends!!!

Love you all!!!

What a weekend and what a upcoming week...

Friday night ofcourse Kason went to spend the weekend with his Nana and PaPaw and by the way they talked they had a great weekend with him and my dad pretty much ate him up and by the looks of my parents den Kason had a pretty good time himself. His new word is Thank you...I couldn't get him to say it until last night and then everything after that was Thank you. He really knows how to wear a word out.

I was able to get off around 3pm on Friday so I went ahead and did the rest of my grocery shopping for our Christmas party on Saturday night. Friday night me, Shaun and Mikah went to Christway Christmas Program "His Promise". It was very good and was different then years past. I could say alot about how I felt Friday night as I sat through the program but I just don't think I'm ready to blog about it and I just ask that you continue to keep me in your prayers...Afterwards we headed back to the house and I did alittle cooking that needed to be done for Saturday.

Saturday morning I really didn't sleep in to late..8:30am. It's funny when you don't have your child for the weekend sometimes you can't sleep in but when he is at home I'm usually praying for an extra 30 minutes. Oh well I really didn't have time to sleep in anyways because I had alot of things to get done before our party at 6pm. I did alot of house cleaning and cooking and Shaun did alot around outside of the house ofcourse that is until he got called out for work at 3 pm. Somehow I knew this was going to happen and I hoping I would aleast know half the people that was coming to the party since I had no clue what time Shaun would get back. Everything turned out great and we had 9 people show up not including the 7 friends Mackenzie brought over. Ofcourse Shaun didn't get home from work until around 9 pm so I was stuck entertaining myself. Like I said lucky for me I knew everyone that came so I didn't mind it at all.

Sunday of course was church and it was #10 "What To Do Until You Say I Do!"(and the last) of his 4 Better 4 Worse Series. He gave 6 steps of instructions for singles based on Genesis 24: 1-21. 1) Slow Down! Hurried decision are normally the wrong decision and are a trick of the devil. 2) Pay Attention to your parents! They know you best. 3) Look in the right place! Church not a bar. 4) Allow God to provide for you! Make a list of what you want in a future mate. 5) Identify Integrity! Check out his family (apple doesn't fall far from the tree), Check out his friends and future. 6) Analyze their attitudes. He also gave us 4 Determining Questions: 1)The Bible Question..Can you biblically marry this person??? 2) The Blessing Question..Do both family bless this marriage?? 3) The Billfold Question...How are your finances?? 4) The Believer Question..Do not be yoked together with an unbeliever.

Did you know that 51% of all marriages fell those in and out of church??? Wow that is a crazy number but I guess since no one believes in trying to save a marriage these days and that it's just as easy to sign a piece of paper then I'm not really surprised. Its sad how accepting everyone is of divorces these days.

Okay enough rambling about that...After church we went to Shaun's mother's for lunch and then we headed to Wildcat Country to get my little angel... ;) Mom said he didn't take much of a nap (hour and half) so I thought I would try and make him lay down when we got home so he wouldn't be so tried that night...and to my surprise he laid right down and took about another hour nap. Then it was time for dinner then Me, Shaun and Kason went to Gardendale First Baptist Christmas Program. This was my first time going to there program and it was really good and really packed. It was about real life family problems. It was quite comical and I could have sworn my mom was in the program. You ofcourse would have had to be there but it was about her divorced daughters family problems and some of the things the grandmother said was like I was listing to my mom all over again. Me, Shaun, Doug and April found it quite comical and when I talked to my mom she said the same thing herself. She said when they started talking about divorce my dad punched her. It ofcourse didn't get over with till around 8:45 and I was so worried about how Kason was doing in the nursery but he was just playing when I went to get him. I went ahead and changed him in his PJ's before heading home. He went right to bed when we got home with no problems.

We have such busy weeks and weekends ahead of us...Tuesday night is my work party at Vestavia Country Club and Thursday night my mom is having the ladies from her church over to her house so we are going to go to that. Friday is Kason's Christmas party at daycare and I have my department Christmas party at Debbie's house. Friday night Kason has to go to his Dad's for the weekend and me and Shaun are doing dinner at The Stell's house. Saturday is the girl's 3rd Annual Bake Day at my Aunt Robin's house. This is something that I enjoy doing every year. It's a great time to spend with all the girls in my family...and let me just say that is one loud house on that day. Sunday night Kason is staying with my sister because she is off all week with Madison and they are going to spend the day together and she is going to bring Kason by to see me at work. Monday night me and Shaun have dinner for his work at Firebirds and then I'm going to try and be off the rest of the week to spend with Kason.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!!

Half Way 2 Friday

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!!

So far we have had a pretty great week...Kason is well and in a great mood other than a few fits every now and then. Monday night I decided to go ahead and put together his table and chairs that is a Christmas present from Nana and PaPaw. I figured he isn't going to know the difference and I'm sure when it comes to opening gifts on Christmas Eve he will be more excited about the paper and boxes then the actual gifts. The plan was for me to put the table together but as you can see that didn't get very far. I have to keep reminding Shaun that I'm not a normal girl and that I can put stuff together. I decided to take pictures of the 2 of them putting it together because you know Mr. Reno thought he needed to give Shaun a helping hand.

We have such a busy weekend ahead of us...Kason is going to stay the weekend with his Nana and PaPaw. He probably want be worth a penny when I get him back on Sunday. Friday night me and Shaun are going to the Christway Christmas program and then grocery shopping because Saturday night we are having friends over for a Christmas party. So most of Saturday will be spent cleaning house and getting things ready for the party. Sunday we will go to church and then to get Kason..hopefully that night we will be going to the Gardendale First Baptist Christmas program. I hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!

Kason just loves this dancing snowman...Even this morning I heard him in the kitchen and I went in there and he was pointing at the snowman...so ofcourse we had to play it before we could leave for the morning.

16 Days Until Christmas!!!

What a great weekend...Friday night we (Me, Kason and Shaun) met my sister, Madison, Steven (The Birthday Boy) and my parents at Logan's for Steven's Birthday dinner. Afterwards we went back home and played with Kason before his bedtime and then watched Why Did I Get Married. Its about Four couples, who are also best friends, converge on a house in the mountains for a week-long retreat that has become their ritual of sorts to help work out their marital problems and ask the question "Why did I get married?". It was a pretty good movie.

Saturday morning we met my sister, Steven and Madison for the Morris Christmas Parade.

Then me and Kason spent the rest of the day together...We went and got a much needed haircut. Then we went to the Galleria, had lunch and did alittle shopping. Then we headed back home to watch the Alabama / Florida Game. I know all the Alabama fans were not happy with the out come and I must say I really wanted them to win as well...however it was a good game to watch. Later that night once Kason was asleep we watched another movie called This Christmas...another great movie.

Sunday we went to church for Series #9 of 4 Better 4 Worse - " Beware..Danger Ahead!" He gave us 8 Powers of Seduction from Proverbs 7: 10-23 : Clothing, Character, Confidence, Craftiness, Compliments, Cleverness, Callousness and Coercion. He also gave us 2 points of How to Avoid Danger? 1) Don't over estimate your personal strength! and 2) Don't under estimate the seducer's power! He has gave some really good points and examples throughout the different series and one that always sticks in my mind "Never Be Alone With The Opposite Sex". Now I never really thought of it as being a big deal because I feel like I am a trustworthy person and plus Dennis never cared but obviously it is a big deal to most men that I have talked to. There are alot of things that I have learned that were alittle strange about my previous marriage and that somethings shouldn't have been acceptable. At the end of the message he played the video by Casting Crowns "Slow Fade" I ofcourse fell apart during this song. Please take the time to watch the video. I'm telling you this song is so true.

After church we went to Shaun's mothers for lunch and then to Shaun's house for Kason a nap. I was able to get a nap in with him so it was pretty nice. Later we went back to my house and hung out and watched alittle TV. I just love Falalala Lifetime!!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!!

Quick Hello

As I sit here and watch Grey's Anatomy ...I thought I would do a short blog. I must say this has seemed like the longest week for some reason. We had to take Kason to the after hours clinic last night because when I picked him up from his Granny Linda's house he was running 103.7 fever and had puss pocket on the back of his throat. So I called the nurse and got a appointment at 7pm. Well 1 hour and 45 minutes later its just a viral infection. I'm sick of JUST viral infections. Don't get me wrong I hate when Kason is sick but atleast if it was strep throat they would give him a shot or antibiotics and I wouldn't feel like I have wasted yet another $30 copay. Oh well I got the standard Motrin and Tylenol speech and was sent home. He slept pretty good last night and only woke up one time and has been in a pretty good mood today even though he is still running a fever. Looks like he will go back to his Granny's tomorrow so mommy can go to work.

No major plans for the weekend yet..Hopefully if Kason is better we can make the Morris Christmas parade since we didn't get to go to Gardendale's tonight. I'm also hoping to get his haircut Saturday sometime because we are so past needing one. I'm sure Shaun will want to watch the SEC Championship game as most Alabama fans would. I may go to the Casting Crowns concert Saturday night with my sister and her friends if Kason is feeling better and I can get a babysitter.

Well I guess I am going to try and finish getting things ready for another day...Thank Goodness Tomorrow Is Friday

What A Great Holiday!!!!

What a great holiday weekend we had and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful family that I could spend it with...

My holiday weekend started around 12:30 pm on Wednesday because my boss called and said I could go home early...YEAH!!! and not to mention I got my Christmas bonus Wednesday too...double YEAH!!! I needed to make a stop by Walmart before heading home to pick up a few things and let me say Walmart + the day before Thanksgiving = NIGHTMARE!!! I did take the free time to finish decorating the outside of the house for Christmas then I got ready and headed to get Kason then to my MawMaw's for dinner and to decorate the Christmas tree. Kason seemed to have a great time and he enjoyed all the extra attention and ofcourse loved playing with all the ornaments especially all the BALLS!!!

Thanksgiving morning started around 6:50 am but lucky for me I put Kason in bed with me and he went back to sleep until 8:45 am. Then it was time to get up and start getting things together to go to my MawMaw's. We had a great day with the family and we ate alot of really good food. I just LOVE turkey and dressing. The weather was great outside so we were able to do alittle playing outside as well. Kason had to go to his Dad's at 2 so our day together was cut alittle short. The rest of the day was just spent hanging out with my family then me and Shaun headed home.

Friday morning I got up around 5:15 am and ran by JCPenny's and then headed to Lowe's when they opened at 6 am. I went for Mom and Shaun a shop vac but I picked up a few extra items while I was there. After a stop by Jack's for breakfast I went back home, wrapped my gifts then crawled back in bed for a nap. Around 10:30 am I got up and headed to Trussville to do alittle more shopping then to Walmart to buy groceries. I got alot accomplished before I had to head home to get Kason by 3 pm. Shaun came over around 4 after he got off from work and we just hung out at the house. One of Shaun's friends, Shaun Gilbert, stopped by as well as Casie and her husband who were in town for the weekend. I haven't got to see Casie since the summer so I was excited to spend alittle time with her.

Well we have had our first ornament death on Friday as well....I was in the front of the house and I noticed Kason got really quite so I went in the den and I noticed Kason sitting by the tree and he was playing with something. I went over and I found a broken GLASS ball that he thought he should play with. Needless to say he cut his hands alittle but it didn't seemed to be bothering him because he was so mad when I took it away from him.

Saturday morning was pretty much a lazy morning until around 12:30 pm when Me, Kason, Shaun and Mikah headed to my Aunt and Uncle's house for the Iron Bowl.
This was Kason's first Iron Bowl Party at my aunts house but spent most of it down at his Nana's. I know all you crazy Alabama fans are super excited that y'all killed us..but WAR EAGLE anyways. Me and my family had a great time watching the game and enjoyed hanging out with each other.

The GROUP

The Girls

Sunday morning we went to church then to eat lunch at Shaun's mother. We headed home and Kason took about a 2 hour nap and I got something's done at the house. Later that evening we went back to Lowes then headed back to the house for the evening.

Pictures I took for our Christmas cards...I tried to just sit him in front of the tree but they didn't work. I know how much he loves playing with boxes so I decided to wrap a diaper box and take his picture that way.

I hope everyone had a great and safe holiday....it was tough getting up this morning especially as cold as it was. I hope everyone has a Happy Monday!!!
