Is Disney REALLY Magically

The verdict might be out with some parents when you say Disney is a magical place but in my case it was truly magical for us. I really thought after 7 days of early mornings and late nights we would have a list of melt downs to talk about but to be honest Kason was a different child in Disney and when I have time I will let you see just how great he was when it came time to take pictures. My child isn't much for picture taking and I guess when you have had a camera in your face since birth you might not blame him but I guess something about getting your picture made with your favorite Disney characters will bring a smile to any ones face. I will do a run down on the trip and just hope I can remember it all: (better late than never) Saturday morning we flew out of Huntsville and landed in Orlando around 2:20pm, found the Disney Express bus and was dropped off at Port Orleans Riverside to meet up with Leslie, Steven and Madison. Much of Saturday evening was spent at Downtown Disney going in and out of all the shops. My sister tried to explain to me the World of Disney store but really there is no words to describe the mass of Disney items in that store. Later that evening we met up with The Beams and The Gill for dinner at the Contemporary and then ended the night with milk and cookies all while watching fireworks over Cinderella's Castle. Sunday morning we were up bright and early and had a fun filled day at Hollywood Studio's. There Kason got to ride Toy Story Mania, meet his favorites Buzz, Woody, Lightning McQueen and Mater, saw Beauty and the Beast and Lights, Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show. We enjoyed a nice dinner at O'hana's where we were served shewers of different meats and a arrangement of different sides. The kids got to sweep coconuts with brooms across the floor and dance to island music. It truly was a great Polynesian experience. Then back to Hollywood Studio's for some more fun and one last time on Rockin Roller Coaster for the girls :) Monday was our day at Epcot. We visited with some International countries, went through the Butterfly garden and then headed to the Character Spot so Kason could meet all his Disney favorites. That night we had our first Grand Gathering dinner which involved a International Buffet from all dinner countries, a surprise visit from Minnie and Goofy which involved alot of dancing and a little picture time. Then we were escorted out to a special spot to watch fireworks all while enjoying a nice yummy dessert bar all to ourselves. Tuesday - Thursday were truly my favorite days because we were in Magic Kingdom..as the sign says "Let the Memories Begin! Kason and Madison became Knights and Pricness all before joining up with the rest of the crew for our breakfast at Cinderella's castle. During breakfast we got to met all the Disney Princesses and even got to see Cameron Diaz and ARod as they were leaving breakfast. Much of Tuesday was spent enjoying rides at Magic Kingdom and meeting different characters. We had another Grand Gathering breakfast on Wednesday with Mickey and friends then headed over to Animal Kingdom where we saw The Tree of Life, Nemo and Friends the musical, Festival of The Lion King and the kids enjoyed a little play time in The Boneyard. Did I mention we rode Everest too??? Awesome roller coaster Thursday was our last day in the magical land of Disney!! We started the morning off with breakfast at The Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends. That was probably the best breakfast all week in my opinion because it was buffet style and they even had grits. Thursday was also Kason's day to be a pirate. It was truly the best money I spent all week. He loved it and was so still while they got him all ready. They even gave him a pirate name John Cruesliver. We finished off our list of rides that we wanted to do and then we went back to rest because I knew it would be long evening. No complaints from Kason because he took a 5 hour nap, YES 5 HOURS, of course I took about a 3 hour nap so I can't say to much. That evening we met back up with my sister and enjoyed hot dogs at Casey's Corner, rode Stitch again (I do believe this was one of his favorites), used our fast pass for Buzz and then headed over to watch the Disney Electrical Parade and then ended the night with Wishes over the Castle. What a perfect way to end our last night in Disney. I have A LOT of pictures...I think around 1000 and many of you can see some of those on facebook. It's was a crazy last week after being out so not a lot of time to blog

Blogging From The Air

Well so far so good...I should have known that getting on an airplane and take off wouldn't bother Kason one bit. I was probably more nervous about it then he was. He seems pretty content watching
Cars on his dvd player. He is pretty amazed about seeing everything from up here and not to mention the idea of getting apple juice and animal crackers just made his day :)

I do believe everyone on this plane are heading to Disney because the ratio of Adults and Kids is just about equal. We saw alot of Mickey ears boarding the plane :)

Watch Out DISNEY the Reno's are COMING!!!!

This will be mine and Kason's first flight together so much prayers are needed as I'm a little nervous flying with him. Please God put your protection over us for a safe flight :)

Love you all and we can't wait to see Mickey and Friends

The Eve Of Our Disney Trip :)

Today me and Kason spent the day out and about in Huntsville. After cooking some biscuits and a little cartoon time we headed out for the morning. I figure why not we have been up since 6:30 might as well get the day started.

We even got to Parkway Place Mall before they opened. Luck for me they had a play area which kept Kason entertained until the stores opened.

Then we headed to StrideRite to get Kason's shoes for the summer. Figured while I was able to get him measured to just go ahead and kill 2 birds with one stone.

We looked around for a little while longer but did good and only left with shoes...YEA ME :)

Had to make a pit stop by Express Oil for my very over due oil change. Of course while I was there had to have a new air filter, a front high beam bulb, a tail light bulb and a tag light. What I thought was going to be a check visit ended up not so cheap..oh well got to keep the Honda running for a lot longer if possible.

Next was my favorite stop which was a lunch date for me and Kason at Rosie's Mexican Cantana. I had Mahi Mahi fish taco and it was YUMMY

Then we headed home for a much need nap and when I mean "we" I mean we both got a good nap today :)

The rest of the evening has been spent playing in the backyard with bubbles

I must say I cooked a pretty good pork roast, potatoes and carrots with a little mac and cheese on the side for dinner ;)

Our flight leaves out of Huntsville tomorrow at 11:40. Please say a pray for us as this is my first time to fly with Kason.

We are both very excited about our week in Disney and can't wait to see Mickey and Minnie.

Love you all :)

Everythings BIGGER in TEXAS

Well since the surprise trip is over and we are back home I can finally blog about it. Of course most of you that see my facebook post know by now Me and Tim went to San Antonio for a couple of days. It was a birthday trip for Tim as well as a surprise visit to one of his buddies that use to live in Huntsville.

Thursday of course was Tim's 41st Birthday!!!! He came down from Huntsville on Wednesday, played a little golf then we went to Outback for a early birthday dinner. I also went ahead and gave him his birthday present which was a signed autograph Mark Ingram jersey.

Ever since I have known him all he has said is that he wished he would have gotten an autograph jersey by Mark Ingram. Not only is he the only Heisman Trophy Winner for the University of Alabama but he was also part of the 2009 National Championship team. So I set out to see if it was something I could make happen...I googled and googled but really found nothing that I really like and was worried it might not be authentic. I came across a website called FamousInk.com and saw where Mark Ingram would be at Parkway Place Mall in Huntsville and that you could actually mail the item to them and he would sign and return. I thought perfect, of course when I started looking for a 22 Jersey they were all sold out. So on a Monday I ordered and had sent next day from RollTide.com a 22 Jersey. Tuesday evening comes around and the jersey still hasn't arrived. Finally around 8 I decided to track the package and see that it had been delivered on Tuesday around 2 pm even noted "carport" and that's when it hit me. The trash between my yard and the neighbors was my jersey. I ran outside and to my great fear was a ripped open package but no jersey. I of course knew at that point what had happened and went to the neighbors house to discuss the problem. Needless to say there big dog Lu had decided to open the package for me and in front of my eyes was a muddy 22 Jersey. I truly wanted to cry because I knew that jersey had to be in Huntsville by Friday. They offered to pay for it but I wanted to see if I could get it clean first since it wasn't actually torn before I had a complete melt down. Thank God the jersey came clean and was shipped out Thursday for it's autograph signing on Friday. The jersey arrived back safely and I had it framed in a shadow box at Hobby Lobby. Have you ever bought someone something you knew they were just going to love and the excitement of giving it to him was high for me. He of course loved it and I know it will look great when he finally gets started on his home office.

Thursday morning we woke up and thanks to my daddy for taking us to the airport

headed for a 10:40 flight to Dallas then on to San Antonio

where Amanda (Bruce's girlfriend) picked us up. Amanda still reassured Tim that Bruce had no idea that we where here and that he would be surprised. Our plan was to meet Bruce at Josephine Street Cafe at 5 for what he thought was dinner for the 2 of them. Bruce got there early so Amanda sent him out for a "female run" so the surprise wouldn't be ruined.

Finally after Bruce made it back he was greatly surprised to see us there. We enjoyed a nice dinner at
Josephine Street Cafe were a 500 year old tree makes its home inside in the middle of the restaurant.

Tim couldn't wait to get outside and "ICE" Bruce.

Have you heard of "Icing"? I decided to do a little research and this is what I found. Icing is a trend among frat boys, hipsters or really just anyone missing a chromosome. Made popular by the site BrosIcingBros.com. Icing is a drinking game for bros where the point is to make other bros drink Smirnoff Ice "against their will, at ridiculously inopportune times."
RULES

This is just something that all of their guy friends have done to each other over the years and so Tim couldn't welcome Bruce any other way.

We then headed downtown to the

made a stop into Coyote Ugly
then finished the night out at a dueling piano bar called Howl At The Moon.

Friday morning the boys had a 9:30 tee time at Silverhorn Golf Club while Me and Amanda just hung out around the house. She had to go babysit her cousin's little girl that afternoon so I piled up on the couch and watch American Idol before heading to the golf course to pick up the boys. Did I mention I got to drive Bruce's convertible mustang ???
of course I had to take the top off and enjoy the beautiful San Antonio air. I told Tim that convertible he has been wanting to buy me ;) is sounding a lot better now..lol

Picked the boys up and headed to Hooters for a afternoon snack and who could leave Hooters without letting them know I had to birthday boys with me.

Had to get a picture of Tim in his $160 jeans. I can't really say to much because he bought me a pair of jeans to :)

That night we got FREE tickets to the Spurs vs Miami Heat basketball game where the Spurs killed them 125-95. We had a lot of fun even though we were 2 rows from the ceiling in the upper deck.

Saturday was Bruce's 41st birthday and the original plan was to go play paintball but no one was really up for it, so much of the day was spent recouping (LITERALLY) from pulling 2 late nights. We had a late lunch at Dickey's Barbecue Pit and then went to the Palladium to watch The Adjustment Bureau which is the new Matt Damon movie. If anyone has ever been to the Monaco on Bridge Street in Huntsville this movie theater is even nicer. Afterwards we all headed home, put pj's on and hung out at the house for the rest of the night.

Sunday was go home day but not before one last visit to River Walk and The Alamo.

This past weekend was the 175th Anniversary of The Battle of the Alamo so they had some extra festive going on.

We walked through River Walk during the day being true sight seers

This of course made my day...CVS in the middle of River Walk

ate real Mexican food at
stopped by the shops at Quarry Market
and then Bruce took us back to the airport.
After it was all said and done we arrived in Birmingham at 8pm and headed home to Morris.

Yesterday I got bug back from an extended stay with his daddy and I couldn't give him enough kisses. We talked about Disney all the way home and you could see his little brain just thinking about it all. To see the excitement on his face truly makes me happy. Busy evening though, I unpacked to repack, played basketball, watch some cartoons, got stuff finished for Kids Market, bath time and story time and still managed to complete Kason's daycare registration paperwork before calling it a night.

Nothing really exciting happening for the next 2 days other than packing for Disney. Thursday I have to take all of our luggage to my sisters house since they are driving down Friday morning and me and Kason will head to Huntsville and fly out on Saturday for DISNEY!!!

DID I MENTION HOW EXCITED WE ARE?????

Love you all
