18 month checkup

Yesterday was Kason 18 month checkup...Its hard to believe he will be 2 in 6 months. Ofcourse I think he has already started into the TERRIBLE 2's but I guess that is just one more thing that makes being a parent so much FUN !!!!

Stats from the doctor:
Height: 33 1/2 inches
Weight 24 1/2 lbs

Dr. Walley said that he will for sure be atleast 6 ft or taller at the rate he is growing. Dr. Walley said he was very happy with the way Kason was talking and said that alot of boys do not say as much as him at this age. He said I was doing a FABULOUS job considering the circumstances. He received his last shot until he is 5 years old and I'm sure Kason would be happy to know that if he understood. He ofcourse told the news when he got his shot but was quickly feeling better once a lollipop was given to me. Also the severe diaper rash from the antibiotics has now turned into another yeast infection so we are having to do antibiotic cream on his little booty.

After the doctors appointment we headed to Sikes to get shoes for the summer and as you can see below $120 later we have enough shoes to make it through the summer..hopefully. I know you must be thinking I'm crazy to spend that much on shoes but when you child has to have wide shoes you have to pay for the wide as well and Sikes is about it.

Everyday casual shoe

and ofcourse the summer sandal

Daycare Shoe

Please continue to keep me in your prayers that me and Kason's daddy don't kill each other before Kason turns 18 ;)

2009 State Champions

Alittle bit about the weekend so far...Friday night we went to Full Moon BBQ for dinner, Walmart to get a computer armoire, his house to start going through all his stuff, then back to my house to put the armoire together.

Yesterday morning we were up by 7 and headed out to Shelton State for Mackenzie's Cheerleading competition. The Tabernalce girls won state for the 2nd time in a role in the small varsity division and Mackenzie was select for the All State team. Congrats!!! We also enjoyed alittle Dreamland BBQ while we were in T-Town.

Mackenzie and Mackayla

Later on that evening we went to my Aunt's house for a few minutes since my cousin Shelley was home for the weekend. Everybody was discussing wedding plans because my cousin Shelley is getting May 16th and we are getting married May 30th. I am pretty much letting my sister and Amy handle everything, I told Amy her budget amount and other than that I will just show up at 2pm on the day. ;) Afterwards we went to my mom and dad's house so I could get a piece of my furniture back because when you move in a 16 year old GIRL you need all the extra storage you can get. We visited with them for a bit then headed home. We had ribs left over for dinner..YUMMIE then me and Shaun started cleaning out and getting somethings organized for Mackenzie's furniture next Saturday.

We had a busy day and night but we managed to get alot accomplished.

Happy Friday!!!

Its been a pretty non eventful week...Kason went to stay at his dads Tuesday night since he hadn't seen him in awhile so Me and Shaun went to Chili's and then to his parents house. I have been trying to start doing alittle small Spring cleaning here and there. We also ordered Mackenzie's bedroom furniture this week and is scheduled to be delivered next Saturday.
.
Kason has to go stay with his dad for the weekend....so the little guy will be missed. Not really for sure what the plans are for tonight...we had talked about going to his house and going through a bunch of stuff. Saturday morning we are going to Shelton State for Mackenzie's cheerleading competition. Sunday we will go to church and then to his MaMaw's for her birthday party. The invitation was to bring "pot luck", a roll of insulation and a rake to do her yard. I think I feel a sickness coming on for myself because I think the high Sunday is only in the 40's ;)

I hope everyone has had a great week...enjoy the pictures.

Kason loved the asparagus Shaun cooked with dinner the other night....ofcourse since he ate it I had to try it because I couldn't let a 18mth old show me up. I must say it was alot better than I thought. I really don't think there is much my child will not eat.

I wanted to share some pictures that Shaun had from the Kentucky Ice Storm he worked.

Sickness, Valentine's and a Birthday all in 1 Weekend

Well my weekend didn't start off as I hoped it would. I woke up Friday morning not feeling so well and after getting sick I still felt like I needed to try and go into work. Well needless to say I only made it until about 9:30 am and I headed back home. Once I finally got home (it felt like I would never get there) my body was ache and I was running a fever. Needless to say I stayed in bed all day and all night. Shaun came over after work and brought me some dinner and a movie. My fever finally broke around 3:30 am and I'm thinking I'm healed and because I had slept all day and night I was up around 6:30-7 am Saturday morning. Shaun brought me breakfast and we were going to go to Walmart because we needed groceries. Well I didn't quite make that because by the time I got to Walmart in Trussville I felt like I was going to be sick again so Shaun took me back home. I crawled back into the bed and yet again I was running a low grade fever. Me and Shaun had reservation at The Melting Pot for 5:15 pm and I'm thinking I don't care how much Tylenol I have to take I'm not missing our dinner reservation. Shaun went back to Trussville and bought groceries for me...which I must say was FABULOUS and I finally was able to get up and moving around 3 and we headed to dinner. As you can see by the pictures below we had a great time. It was a different experience for both of us but the food was really good. We tried to be romantic like all the other couples but ofcourse we had to add a little laughter in there as well. I guess it was a good thing they put us in the back corner.

Happy Valentine's and Happy Birthday Shaun

Romance and Laughter all in 1 with us.....

Sunday was a better day for me I was finally feeling better and NO FEVER. We went to church and then stopped by Cracker Barrel for take out for us and all the kids and headed to Shaun's mom. After lunch we (Me, Shaun, Mikah, Mackenzie and Mackayla) all piled in the truck and headed to my house. We did a few things around the house while Kason was taking a nap at Nana's then me and Shaun headed to Wildcat Country to pick him up. After a quick trip into Walmart we headed home and made homemade pizza's and watched a movie with all of the kids.

Kason ofcourse is running another fever and has yet another ear infection so I have a call into the ENT doctor today. Now my mom has what I had so I guess Kason carried something home to me and her from daycare. Thanks little guy!!!

Don't really know what the week holds. I'm sure Kason will have to go to his dad's this weekend and I hope to go to Mackenzie's cheerleading competition on Saturday.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Friday the 13th

Kason all dressed for his Valentine's Party

I know I shouldn't have let Kason crawl up on the table but it was so cute because he wanted Shaun's corn and that was the only way he knew to get it....

Beautiful Weekend!!!!

I know I'm a day late posting but I was off yesterday and so I didn't have time to write until now...Friday night we met my parents at Chili's for dinner and then I took Madison home with me because Leslie was getting their taxes done and Madison hates grocery shopping with Nana & PaPaw. Once we got to the my house they played until I finally had to put Kason to bed at 9:00. Mackayla and her boyfriend came over later that night and hung out and Mackayla stayed the night as well.

When you put the 2 of them together you never know what you might get....

Saturday morning Kason let me sleep until 8 am...Thanks little guy. The morning was mostly spent eatting breakfast, playing and watching cartoons. Lucky for me he took a 2 hour morning nap so I was able to get some house work done. After morning nap I took Kason to the park because it was such a awesome day outside and I hated to waste it inside. We started out going to Celebration Park in Gardendale but I quickly realized that playground is alittle to big for him so after we finished our lunch I loaded him up and we headed to Moncrief Park. Once we got there he was off and never slowed down until I finally decided it was time to go. We ran into April, Doug and Nathan while we were at the park. By the looks of both parks everyone was out enjoying the great weather. Afterwards we made a quick run by Walmart because my 17 month is having a Valentine's party on Friday and they are exchanging Valentine cards. Now you can imagine I thought this was pretty crazy because Kason doesn't have a clue about Valentine's as well as the other kids but hey sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. We headed home for Kason's evening nap and I just hung out on the couch watching tv and waiting for Shaun to get home. He finally got home around 2:30 and I was happy to finally see him. He was able to get a nap in before he wanted to go to Chili's for dinner. Yep I ate Chili's again..but I enjoy there food so I didn't mind.

Pictures from the park...

Sunday we went to church and then over to Shaun's mothers for lunch...Kason was able to play outside for awhile and then we all went home and took naps. Sunday was pretty much just a lazy day for all of us.

Monday I decided to take off work and go with Shaun to look for a truck. We dropped Kason off at daycare and then headed to Cottondale, AL. We went up there looking for a certain truck but ofcourse our luck they sold it on Saturday. I thought it was going to be a wasted trip because the other trucks were out of his price range. Finally the sellsman told us how much he would take for a 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew Cab. So we test drove it for awhile and then headed back to do the business. After hours of waiting on the Credit Union (I guess everyone was buying vehicles on Monday) we finally left at around 2:00pm with Shaun a truck. I had to go straight to daycare to pick up Kason for his 3:30 ENT appointment. As I already knew Kason had lost his tube in the right ear but it has a hole were the tube was. Dr. Bragg is hoping it will heal up and the ear will drain properly but if it doesn't close up he will have to go patch the whole himself. If it does heal and we still have ear infection we will get another set of tubes. Either way its nothing serious and he wants to see Kason again in April. Mackenzie came over for dinner after cheerleading practice and we just hung out at the house watching tv.

And today its back to work... :( No major plans for the rest of the week. Kason is staying with Nana and PaPaw this weekend. Not only is it Valentine's this weekend but Shaun birthday is on Valentine's as well so we have reservation at the Melting Pot for dinner and then we may go to WorkPlay for Latin Dance night. Shaun has been before and says it is fun. I don't have a clue but hey I'm up for it.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Did you wear RED today????

You should have because it is National Wear Red Day...You may ask what is National Wear Red Day??? Its when thousands of Americans across the country will wear red to unite in the national movement to remind everyone that heart disease is the #1 killer of women. The day serves as a personal and urgent wake-up call for women about their risk for heart disease. Simply wear your favorite red dress, tie, or shirt and help inspire others to take action to reduce their risk for heart disease.

Now on to exciting news...SHAUN IS COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!! My child will probably have nothing to do with me after tomorrow. Please pray that him and the crew have a safe drive home tomorrow from Kentucky.

We really don't have any major plans for the weekend. Tonight I think we are going to join my parents for dinner and then head to the house. I have heard through the great vine that Mackayla (Shaun's daughter) may be spending the night but I haven't heard from her yet. She is 16 so you know how there plans change very quickly. I hoping to maybe take Kason to the park tomorrow or maybe do alittle playing in the back yard. I just want to be able to enjoy the warm weather that we are suppose to have.

I hope everyone has had a great week and get out this weekend and enjoy the nice weather ;)

6 more weeks of Winter...Happy Groundhog Day

Well Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was spent in West Palm Beach Florida. Even though I spent Wednesday night in a meeting, Thursday and half a day on Friday in class it was nice to be in the 80 degree weather. Thursday after class me and Lisa went for dinner and alittle shopping. We decided to go into Macy's and try on dresses because A - what else is there to do and B- I figured I needed to start looking for a formal dress for mine and Shaun's cruise. I will get into that later. So I picked out a few dress and went into the dressing room to try them on and that's when I found it. There it was hanging in the dressing room and it was just my size....

Not to mention it was 50% off and I go an additional 15% off. I absolutely love it and it fits me GREAT!!! Shaun tells me Thursday that he is leaving for Kentucky Friday morning to work the ice storm damage and may be gone 8-10 days. Even though I do miss him he needs all the extra money he can get right now...Did I mention his truck is totaled. Even though he has to buy another vehicle we are still very thankful that Mackayla wasn't harmed in the wreck. As my mom would say these are just material things.

My dad and mom had to pick me up from the airport on Friday since Shaun had to go out of town. Friday evening was mostly spent at the house unpacking and enjoying a nice quite house. My plan was to sleep late Saturday morning but for some reason I woke up at 6:30 am but I made myself go back to sleep until 9:30 am. Since Kason wasn't home I knew I needed to finish painting what will be Mackenzie room when we get married. I had already done 2 walls so I only had 2 more to do. So now that is done and over with...YEAH!!!! I talked to my mom and she said her and Madison were going to the mall and I decided I wanted to ride. So I put the rest of my house chores on hold for the day and spent the day with my Mom and Maddie. Madison spent most of her time at the mall in Build A Bear and I started doing alittle Summer clothes shopping for Kason. Once we were done at the mall we made a quick trip by David's Bridal...let me just say NIGHTMARE and I knew there was a reason I was online shopping because I'm not going through that madness again. I was in and out in probably less than 10 minutes. After my mom dropped me off at the house I headed back out for alittle more shopping and then to Walmart to pick up a few groceries. Then I headed home with a Cheese Pizza and a Dr. Pepper and called it a night. Sunday morning I went to church and then meet Dennis to pick up Kason...YEAH because I had really missed the little guy. Ofcourse when I picked him up he tells me that his ear started draining yesterday. It probably wouldn't have been such a big deal but his tube had fell out of that ear on Wednesday so I was alittle confused on why it was draining. I was headed to my moms so I just called the nurse when I got there and ofcourse she said they needed to see him. So at 5:30 pm me and my dad head to After Hours on 280 for a 6:45 appointment. Ofcourse we have another ear infection and after picking up his antibiotics we were home by around 9:30pm. I decided not to send Kason to daycare today since it was raining and sometimes you just need to stay home with them. The ear infection hasn't bothered him. He has been his wild little self today, into everything and throwing fits when he doesn't get what he wants. I told him one day he will realize he is just wasting his fits because that doesn't work on me.
.
Many people have been asking since the blog regarding the engagement if we had set a date. We have and are getting married on May 30th at my Aunt's house (Robin mark your calendar) and then leaving out on May 31st for a cruise until June 6th. We kind of planned it that way so we would be on the cruise for my 30th Birthday on the 5th and plus we want to get Mackenzie settled in at the house before she starts her senior year. I really don't know much about the cruise yet because my Travel agent aka SISTER is handling it for me. The wedding will be mostly just family and a couple of close friends...and if I don't find a cheap dress I like I still haven't ruled out courthouse. ;)

I hope everyone had a great last week and a good weekend. Please continue to keep me and Kason in your prayers.
