HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING!!!

Well since my computer at home is having issues I wanted to go ahead and wish all of our FAMILY and FRIENDS a Safe & HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

This Thanksgiving Day, let's remember what we truly have to be thankful for. Let's take a good, hard look around us and realize that while we may not have everything we want, what we want is not always what we need.

With Love,

Angela & Kason Reno

Crime Scene

I'm still not really for sure how this happened...

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Shaun was in the back of the house and Kason was in the den playing with some matchbox cars...Everything seemed okay. Shaun called me to come into the den. He said what is in the floor??? Did he throw up??? So being the mommie I stick my finger in it to see what it was. It didn't smell good and whatever it was he had it all over the front of his pants. I told Shaun it smells like poop..but how did it get in the floor. So I pull up the back of Kason's shirt and sure enough that's what it was. Now how it got all in the floor is still a mystery to the both of us. Needless to say I took Kason's straight to the tub and Shaun cleaned up the remaining mess. My son has had some bad diapers in his 15 months of life but nothing ever like this.

Okay now to something not so GROSS...

Kason's 15 mth checkup was yesterday. He weighed 24 lbs 10 oz and is 32 inches tall. Ofcourse he is high on the growth chart and is bigger than most kids his age. Dr. Walley was happy with the way he looked and couldn't believe all the teeth he had. He had to get 2 regular shots and his last flu shot for the year. Ofcourse he screamed like a wild man but I know how bad it hurts. Its funny how fast those tears dry up when they get a sucker though. He only has to get one more shot (polio) at his 18 mth check and we are done until his 5 year check up. YEAH YEAH YEAH

We still HATE Elmo...

We put locks on some of the cabinets and he was mad because he couldn't get them opened.

I Miss My Little Boy!!!

Well Kason has been at his Dad's all weekend and because he has his 15 mth checkup today he stayed with his Dad a extra night so he could just meet me with him instead of having to go to daycare today...and let me say I REALLY miss my little boy and can't wait to see him.

Friday night since neither me or Shaun had kids this weekend we decided to do dinner and a movie. I have really been wanting to see FireProof since I saw the previews during the Summer and we just haven't had a chance to go. Alot of people I know have seen the movie and said it was great and showed the spiritual side of how a marriage should be. My sister saw it a couple of weekends ago and said that I might not be ready to see it yet. I must say she was right. I definitely think it is a great movie for "Struggling" or "Happy" marriages but not so much for someone who has just gone through a divorce within the last year.

The Story:
At work, inside burning buildings, Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. At home, in the cooling embers of his marriage, he lives by his own rules.
Growing up, Catherine Holt always dreamed of marrying a loving, brave firefighter...just like her daddy. Now, after seven years of marriage, Catherine wonders when she stopped being "good enough" for her husband.
Regular arguments over jobs, finances, housework, and outside interests have readied them both to move on to something with more sparks.
As the couple prepares to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day experiment: "The Love Dare." Wondering if it's even worth the effort, Caleb agrees-for his father's sake more than for his marriage. When Caleb discovers the book's daily challenges are tied into his parents' newfound faith, his already limited interest is further dampened.
While trying to stay true to his promise, Caleb becomes frustrated time and again. He finally asks his father, "How am I supposed to show love to somebody who constantly rejects me?"
When his father explains that this is the love Christ shows to us, Caleb makes a life-changing commitment to love God. And with God's help he begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife.
But is it too late to fireproof his marriage? His job is to rescue others. Now Caleb Holt is ready to face his toughest job ever...rescuing his wife's heart.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR PARTNER BEHIND!!!

I had purchased the book about a month or so ago and after seeing the movie Me and Shaun decided to do the book together even though we are not married but both of us have been previously divorced and we thought it would really be good for our relationship.

Okay enough about that....

Saturday I spent all day cleaning my house all the way down to the base boards. I was also able to finish up decorating for Christmas except for the outside and will finish that up on Friday. Shaun had to work on a side job first thing that morning so afterwards he came over and did a few things for me around my house that was much needed. Later that night we cooked on the grill and just hung out at the house.

Sunday we went to church for are 7th Series of "4 Better 4 Worse" titled "Every Womans Dream" He gave 5 Characteristics of a Godly Man out of Psalm 125 and Ephesians 5. Afterwards we went and had are normal Sunday lunch at his mom's house. We both fell asleep on his moms couch and then took Mackenzie to Walmart. Once we got back me and Mackenzie decorated their Christmas tree and watched TV will Shaun did things around his house. Later we went back to my house and hung out.

We have a busy week ahead of us...As I mentioned earlier Kason's has his 15mth checkup today which will involve a couple of shots and his last flu shot. Wednesday night we go to my MawMaws for decorating of her Christmas tree. This is something that we have been doing for years and all the Grandkids and now Great Grandkids participate. Thursday ofcourse is TURKEY DAY!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH and lets not forget about the IRON BOWL on Saturday. I'm sure I will have alot of pictures to post as the week goes by..ofcourse that is if I get my computer to work at home.

If I don't get to post anymore this week..I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Kason & Santa

I was really nervous this year about taking Kason to have his picture made with Santa because this is normally the age they start screaming when they see him...but lucky for me he wasn't. I was really happy how they turned out. When I look back on last years picture from when he was only 3 1/2 months I can't believe how much he has grown.

As Kason would say TADA!!!

We finally have the Christmas tree up....Normally I am completely decorated by now but I have been alittle behind schedule this year. Hopefully I will get everything done this weekend along with a "To Do List" that Shaun has made for us..and I thought I was OCD about things.

What A Weekend!!!

My weekend started pretty early because I only had to work 1/2 day building a playground...afterwards I did alittle shopping for Christmas then headed to the house until Kason woke up from his nap. That evening Shaun and Mikah came over and we cooked dinner and hung out at the house.

Kason helping the boy's setup the Wii

Saturday morning Kason let me sleep until 7:45am so that wasn't to bad after that we were up for the day. After his morning nap Me, Kason, Shaun and Mikah headed out on a hunt for a Christmas Tree. I went to put my tree up last Wednesday night and the top half lights didn't work..it is 6 years old so I did atleast get my money out of it. We went Wednesday night to Lowe's and purchased one but when we got it home and put it up some of the lights were not working on it. We tried everything to get it to work but in the box it went and back to Lowe's it had to go. So I decided I was going to look at some other places first before I made a decision. We ended up at Sam's and with a tree. I told Shaun Saturday if this tree doesn't work prepare for me to have a breakdown and cry. Thank the Lord no problems and once I get it decorated I will post pictures. Saturday evening after we dropped Kason off to Aunt Leslie and Mikah back to Shaun's house we headed to the Alabama / Mississippi State Game. I know everyone who is reading this knows that I'm a Auburn fan but when it comes to free tickets to a college football game I will cheer for anyone. I have never been to a Auburn game before but I must say there is nothing like Alabama Football. We were prepared for really cold weather but the seats where really good and were under the noise bleed section so we were out of the wind and we never really got that cold. Once we finally got back to Fultondale between sitting in traffic and a wreck we decided to make a pit stop by The Waffle House....YUMMIE!!!

Rainbow on the way to the game...BEAUTIFUL

Welcome to Alabama Football...

Sunday morning we went to church at GFB for Series #6 of "4 Better 4 Worse". This week it was titled "When The Flame Has Fizzled!" It was a great message and he had alot of really great points. Once section was What Do Husbands need from their wives?...Affirmation and Affection and What Do Wives need from their husbands?..Compliments and Covering. He compared the 2 sexes...The Woman as a Crock Pot (Slow) and The Man as a Microwave (Quick). Woman are emotional and Men are Visual. His final point was that No Man or Woman can satisfy you or your needs only God can and if he isn't in the center of your life and your marriage then you will never have a successful marriage. Afterwards we went to Shaun's mom for lunch and then headed back to my house. Me, Kason, Leslie and Madison had a Pottery Party at 4pm in Hueytown and then that night Me, Kason and Shaun stopped by Robert's house for his 30th Birthday party. For some reason Kason didn't have a good night last night he woke up about 9:30 and cried off and on till about 10:45 pm finally I put him in the bed with me and he went right to sleep finally about 12 am I put him back in his bed and I never heard anything else out of him. Maybe he just wanted to be next to his mommie.

Kason and Madison playing yesterday...

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!! No major plans for the week. I am having girls night tomorrow night at the Comedy Club for Tiffany's Birthday and Thursday we get to pick up our Santa pictures. Other than that who knows what we are going to do...hopefully trying to stay warm.

Giving Back To The Community

Well today was my day to give back to the community with my fellow coworkers. ProAssurance, Starnes and Atchinson and other business around the Birmingham area participated in Kaboom's Operation Playground. Over 250 volunteers gathered at Glen Iris Elementary at 8am this morning to help build the kids a playground. We had a great day and the kids were so excited to see the new playground.

The Pictures aren't the best because I had to take them with my cell phone...

The Playground In Progress...

The kids came out to visit and see the progress that we were making...

I hope everyone had a great week. I won AL / Miss State tickets at work so me and Shaun are going to the game tomorrow. Its going to be fun but I'm sure we are going to freeze our booty's off. Sunday of course will be church and then we are going to a pottery party. Other than that we really don't have any other plans but I'm sure we will find something to get into.

Good Morning!!!

Where does the weekend go???? I can't believe it is already Monday again and we have to start another work week.

I will first start off by saying Kason is feeling much better...He has been in such a playful mood since Saturday. I love to sit and watch him just play and talk to himself and me like I should know what he is saying. He just has the biggest smile when he is in a good mood and it brings a smile to my face.

Weekend Review....

Friday night Kason stayed with Nana and PaPaw so me and Shaun went to Tuscaloosa to watch the CFA Championship Game...Needless to say Tabernacle did not come away with the state championship this year. Did I mention how cold is was FRIDAY night to???? It was definitely football weather but I just haven't had to sit out in the cold in awhile.

Saturday, didn't start for me until around 10:30am...I must say this is one thing I miss about having a little one...SLEEPING LATE!!! I pretty much just hung around the house until Brayden's Birthday party. I was going to take Kason but I wasn't for sure if he was over the viral infection and I really didn't want to expose the other babies to a possible staph infection. I had a really good time at the Brayden's birthday party ofcourse not as much fun as he had eatting that birthday cake. He had alot of friends show up and got alot of pretty cool presents. Even though he was mostly interested in everything else but the presents. Afterwards I ran a few errans and then headed to Shaun's house to watch the rest of the Alabama game then to my mom's to pick up my little guy.

Happy First Birthday Brayden!!!!

Sunday, we went to church then over to Shaun's mom for lunch. After lunch it was time to head home for Kason's Sunday nap. My friends April and Anthony are expecting a little boy in January, Landon Brent Cain, so her baby shower was at 2pm and so I didn't have to wake Kason up Shaun stayed home with him until he woke up then they headed out to run some errans. After the baby shower we hung out at Shaun's house for awhile then headed home to get ready for another week.

We have a pretty busy week ahead of us. Kason has a recheck at the GI doctor tomorrow then he is staying with his Dad because I have to be at a meeting in Tuscaloosa Wednesday morning at 8am and Thursday night we are having pictures with Santa. I can't believe it is already Thanksgiving and Christmas time!!! YEAH YEAH!!!

I hope everyone had a great and safe weekend!!!

This is my note of madness for awhile...and Dennis I'm sure when you read this you will probably get mad but I want this off my chest. I don't even know why I would care because this is something you asked for but it really saddens me that your relationship with your child will probably not be any better than what you had and have with your own father. Kason and I are truly blessed to have other male figures in our lives (My Dad, Steven and now Shaun) and I really hope that you are not dissappointed when your own child doesn't see you as his father. This was definitely not the life I chose for myself or definitely not for Kason because family is so important to me but don't be surprised when he looks up to other males instead of you. I pray your child doesn't feel like you did about your own dad. I know how painful it was for you and the thoughts of my child feeling like that upsets me.

Thank God Its Friday!!!!

Well I don't even know where to begin about my day yesterday. I decided yesterday morning after dropping Kason off at daycare that I probably needed to go ahead and go to the doctor since I was only going to work 1/2 day yesterday due to us going to Christmas village..so I just decided to take the whole day and go to the doctor before I got any worse. So after seeing the doctor he decided to put me on Factive (antibiotic) for 5 days and give me 2 shots...one being a Rocephin shot. He said that the Rocephin shot can sometimes cause dizziness so he will make me stay for alittle after the shot just to make sure. Well the nurse comes in and give me both shots and she said know I'm going to tell you this Rocephin shot hurts. Let me just say she wasn't lying. Now I know why Kason screams to the top of his lungs when he gets the shot. Well I'm not for sure if the pain from the shot made me sick or the actual medication but all of a sudden I got this hot feeling all over my body and decided I needed to sit down and fan myself for awhile. When the nurse came in to check on me she said are you okay because you don't look so well. I said know I don't feel well at all. So she made me lay down and of course my blood pressure had dropped which almost caused me to pass out. After liquids, about 10 minutes of laying down and a recheck on my blood pressure I was able to go home. Of course I headed to Walgreen's who didn't have the medicine in so I went to CVS in Fultondale. Now I was prepared for the medicine to be atleast $50 because I knew it was a expensive pill and I'm allergic to everything so I can just take anything. I asked him to run a check to see how much it was going to be not that I had a choice to fill it or not and he came back and said because the doctor put some kind of sticker on the back that it wouldn't cost a thing. Now this medicine without insurance is $150 so to hear I don't even have to pay $50 I was overwhelmed with joy. So I just dropped it off and I told him I would come back and get it. Then it was time for me to head to the house for awhile. I decided to turn on 96.5 which is already playing Christmas music and decided to start ALITTLE Christmas decorating. I know its not Thanksgiving yet but I love Christmas decorations. I mostly just put things Kason couldn't get his hands on yet.

Around 11:45 I headed to meet my sister, mom and Aunt so we could spend the rest of the day at Christmas village. This is something we have been doing for the last couple of years all together. Normally my cousin, Amy and Grandmother goes but Amy couldn't get off work due to a temp job and my Grandmother well she really didn't have a good reason. We had a really great time and we actually bought alot of stuff this year.

Nana bought Kason's Christmas outfit as she does every year for the grand kids.

Afterwards we had to go to the funeral home. Please continue to keep the Worden family in your prayers. As I'm sure this is a very difficult time for this family.

Shaun picked Kason up from daycare yesterday since I was going to be at Christmas village and the funeral home. He wanted to spend the evening with him and take him to Chick-fil A to play on the inside playground. So as I was leaving the funeral home I called to check on them and he said that the daycare had sent a letter home regarding a place on his pelvic area that concerned them about staph infection. Of course I was alittle concerned when I saw it this morning but I thought maybe if I put some cream on it would get better. So I call the nurse and of course she said I probably need to take him to the After Hours Clinic on Acton Road. So I met Shaun in Gardendale and we all headed to the doctor for a 7:30 pm appointment. They are treating the area as a staph infection and have put him on Bactrim and I have to keep it covered with cream on it. I swear my son is going to have experienced everything by the time he is 5. The doctor told me right now it doesn't look serious but if it gets any worse or he starts running a fever I need to take him back in and plus I have to follow up with Dr. Walley next week. We will visit the doctor a total of 5 times this month. So finally at 8:40 pm we headed to get his prescription filled. We wanted to go to CVS in Fultondale so I could get my medicine to but of course they close at 9 pm so we didn't think we would make it. Luckily we pulled in right about 9pm and she let me come in and atleast get my medication. Then Shaun dropped me off at Chick-fil A to get my car and I headed to Walgreen's and he headed home with the baby. I finally made it home for the night and it wasn't to long before I went to bed. I was glad this day was finally coming to a end.

Kason seemed okay this morning ofcourse he is still ill and coughing alot but hopefully the Bactrim will help with that also. The place on his pelvic area looked about the same this morning and he wasn't running a fever. The doctor said as long as the area is covered then he could go to daycare. He is spending the night with his Nana and PaPaw tonight because they haven't really got to spend alot of time with him since we have moved out. Me and Shaun are going to Tabernalce's state game in Tuscaloosa tonight. I ofcourse will sleep late in the morning and then we are going to Brayden's 1st Birthday party. Not really for sure what the rest of the weekend holds but I'm hoping it only get better. It did make me happy to see a rainbow this morning!!! I hope everyone saw it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend..Happy FRIDAY and Happy 29th Birthday to my cousin Amy!!!!

Update on Kason

Well Kason seemed to have slept alittle better last night...Don't think he woke up crying as much as he did the night before. I thought it was going to be a rough night because yesterday evening he was so whiny and nothing I seemed to do made him happy. I swear men think that when they are sick the whole world should shut down but hey what do you do when he gets it honestly from his father. His fever was in the 97's this morning but ofcourse he was still ill as a hornet. Needless to say his Granny has him again today. I on the other hand still didn't sleep well because I have sinus stuff going on. Oh well life must go on!!!

Hopefully he will feel better by this evening because we are taking him to my sisters church for their fall festival.

Tomorrow is CHRISTMAS VILLAGE!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH.

Viral Infection

Well as I mentioned yesterday I took Kason to Dr. Walley's because he had been running a fever since Sunday. When I picked him up from being with his Granny most of the day he looked really pitiful and I could tell he wasn't feeling well. Needless to say we tested negative for strep and are being treated as a viral infection. Which means no antibiotics and it has to run its course. He did give him some accuhist which is suppose to help with the runny nose and cough. He also threw in some sample of Maxifed for me..because Lord knows moms don't have time to go to the doctor when your child is sick. Did I mention that his Granny said he had been vomiting I guess do to the drainage in his throat. Well I got that good experience once we left the doctors office he decided to start vomiting. So I had to stop in the McDonalds parking lot..if you have been to St. Vincents you know where Im talking about and tried to get him cleaned up. I striped him down and put some pants on him and left him without a shirt...then it was back on the road. I thought I would use the CVS in Fultondale since it was close to the house but they didn't have the accuhist in stock so I had to go to Walgreen's. Now I pulled into the driving thru at 4:45 pm and finally at 5:30 pm I made it to the window to learn that they had 1 box left and that it would take probably another 10 or so minutes to fill. Now most everyone who knows me knows I have no patience at all. I never said I did and I know better than to pray for it. I said no I have already waited in line for 45 mins and did I mention my child has now vomited again in the car so at this point he is just sitting in it. GROSS!!!!! I told them no I will have someone come and get it. So we headed home to learn that his fever was at 104.1 and so I not only put him in the tub to clean him up but to try and get his fever down. Afterwards I put his PJ's on and he laid in his nursery floor and went to sleep. I talked to Shaun and after waiting in line inside Walgreen's when it was finally his turn they still didn't have the accuhist ready. All I can say is it is a good thing I didn't wait..oh and did I mention it was $50. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! Finally they had the medicine ready and he headed to the house. Kason woke up around 7 and I brought him in the den and he just laid on the couch finally about 7:45 I put him in the bed and he went to sleep. Ofcourse if it was only that easy...i was up ever 3 hours giving Motrin and Tylenol not to mention the multiple times he woke up crying. Lucky for me he would lay back down and go back to sleep. He was alittle ill this morning and is staying at his Granny's today. Hopefully this want last long and we will be on the road to recovery.

I really think God has a BIG BIG sense of humor with me these days.... Because hey I had to wait in line for 45 minutes to vote this morning. I mean who puts N-R all in the same line. I guess God is going to teach me patience one way or other. He probably just gets a big kick out of me sometimes.

Halloween Weekend

Tiffany & Josh's Halloween Party

Halloween Night At Hayden Church of God

What a busy weekend!!!! Friday night me and Shaun took Kason to my parents church for a Fall Festavial and had a great time. I think Kason made the cutest Glow Worm ever!!!! Afterwards we head to meet his Dad because he was spending the weekend with him. You know you are old when Halloween is spent buying groceries at Walmart. WOW what a exciting life I live. Saturday morning didn't start for me until about 10 am because I was determined to sleep in just alittle. Later that day me and Shaun went to my parents house to get all my Christmas decorations and then I went home and cut the grass for the last time until Spring. Did I mention I LOVE CUTTING THE GRASS??? Afterwards I decided to take a little nap so I would be ready for my first Halloween costume party. Me and Shaun went as Gangster couples and I think the costumes fit us PERFECTLY!!! We had a great time. Sunday was a day of just doing things around the house that needed to be done since I didn't have to worry about what Kason could possibly be getting into. Ofcourse his dad called last night to inform me that Kason was running a fever of 102.5 so needless to say he is at his Granny's today and we are headed to the doctor around 2:45. THANKS ALABAMA WEATHER!!!!

One Last Thing....Please keep The Worden family in your prayers..Their 17 year old son Jared was killed Friday night in a car wreck. This family is in much need of your prayers.
